TALAHI ISLAND - Julian W. Moreno, Sr., 89, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at his home at Talahi Island, GA.
Mr. Moreno was born in Savannah, GA on July 8, 1923, the son of the late Julian A. and Margaret Lucree Moreno. He was a World War II veteran and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army. He was initiated into the Local Union 188, Plumbers, Pipefitters, and HVAC Journeymen and Apprentices in 1951 where he was a life member, retiring as a Refrigeration Journeyman. He was a charter member of American Legion, Post No. 36.
Mr. Moreno was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Beatrice Sires Moreno and daughter, Nancy Jean Moreno. He is survived by his sons, Julian W. "Jay" Moreno, Jr. of St. Marys, GA and Michael A. Moreno of Savannah, GA.
At Mr. Moreno's request, there was no visitation, no funeral mass, and no prior announcement.
Those wishing to make memorial donations are requested to make them to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Michael A. Moreno is asked to ask him to call his brother in St. Marys.
